3D Printer Integration in Business
Feasibility analysis phase
In order to carry out this technological integration project, an analysis was carried out together with the client on the idea from which they started in order to develop a proposal based on this. This analysis consisted of evaluating not only the idea from which the client started, but also the possible scalability of this integration. In order to do this, it was essential to know the company's production process in more detail.
Once the analysis had been carried out, it was concluded that not only was it feasible to install a 3D printer, but also that it would be of great benefit to the company in terms of both economics and sustainability and production.
Implementation phase
After analysis, more than 20 parts were identified that could be manufactured by additive manufacturing. The parts did not exceed 400x400x400mm and required a wide variety of materials, from the basic PLA or PETG to materials with carbon fibre or glass fillers. In addition to the direct parts, improvements were also detected in relation to the ergonomics of tools and the creation of new tools to carry out the work more efficiently.
After the analysis, three possible 3D printer options are proposed for this company. All with a clear industrial character, allowing the use of different materials, both standard and more technical, in order to be able to print all types of parts.
Once the printer was chosen, Enginhum also carried out its installation and the subsequent training of the team in charge of managing it. This training ranged from the use and basic maintenance of the printer, to the specific configuration of each print file to obtain the best results according to the specific needs of each part.
